Goddess news: Fortuna temple unearthed

From the article:  "The temple, likely dedicated to the goddess Fortuna and constructed sometime in or after the 7th century BC, would have acted as 'a free trade zone and the goddess is supposed to guarantee the fairness of the trade', the co-director of the project told NPR."

Parnashavari Song of Praise

Goddess who pacifies every illness
And disease-causing demons,
I bow before you, Divine Mother.

She who manifests in field and village
Especially in the forested places,
Homage to you, powerful mountain lady.

You who know all methods of taming,
Dressed in clothing of tree leaves
And adorned with fruit and flower,
Homage to you, leaf-wearing Goddess.

With a roar of peaceful mantras
You pacify epidemics and suffering.
With thunder of wrathful mantras,
You destroy poisonous spirits.
Homage to your holy words.

Your peaceful heart soothes all living
With deep affection and delight.
You magnify life and glory.
Goddess whose mind is spacious and free
Homage to you!

(Tibetan song of praise, trans. M. Shaw)

Navajo Song of the Sun and Moon

Song of the Sun and Moon:

The First Man holds it in his hands
He holds the Sun in his hands
In the center of the sky, he holds it in his hands
As he holds it in his hands, it starts upward.

The First Woman holds it in her hands
She holds the Moon in her hands
In the center of the sky, she holds it in her hands
As she holds it in her hands, it starts upward.

The First Man holds it in his hands
He holds the Sun in his hands
In the center of the sky, he holds it in his hands
As he holds it in his hands, it starts downward.

The First Woman holds it in her hands
She holds the Moon in her hands
In the center of the sky, she holds it in her hands
As she holds it in her hands, it starts downward.
